I am the Viper in Your Garden

i lie in this bed you made for us
the wild you think you’ve tamed
hungry
aching
waiting
with a polite smile on my face

i am not here for you
but here because of you
needing
burning
hurting
and you will give what i will take

this may be your heaven
but you were the one to invite me in
to welcome me
to take me inside
to hold me
when i was only passing by

now i am the viper in your garden
twisting and turning to bite you within
piercing
tasting
penetrating
the venom of my love pure beneath your skin.
