What started as a simple illustration for myself quickly evolved into something more. I got absolutely lost in the details of her hair, spending countless hours refining each strand, every shadow, every highlight, to make sure that it fell absolutely right. The beauty of this was that this illustration was for myself only, and so I did have the freedom to take that time, enjoy the process, and not worry about deadlines. I had to laugh at myself - here I took what started as a typical "girl in bikini" drawing and totally forgot about all of that - instead spending 90% of my time on the face and hair.
