Remember the satellites

would you even remember our first night
the way we kissed, touched, smiled
we were complete at first sight

remember the endless conversations
previous lives kept us distant
right from the start, more than infatuation

and if anyone asked, would you admit
how you told me that i was like no one else
you wanted, you needed, you were scared of it

sometimes i wonder if you think of our time
the sadness, the happiness,
the way you always reached your hand for mine

the satellites would circle and oh how we'd talk
i miss the streets of your hometown
i miss the way you leaned in to me when we'd walk

if i knew you'd still hurt i wonder if i'd change
your memory still haunts me
one night of pleasure for every four days of pain

our kiss goodbye you didn't tell me was forever
i told you i'd see you soon
you should have been honest, you knew it was never.
